EORI number — your customs identity
Businesses importing to or exporting from the EU need an EORI number. In Germany it is issued free of charge by the Generalzolldirektion; you apply via the Zoll-Portal. If you plan regular Türkiye–Germany trade, this is step one.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I get an EORI number for trading?
Businesses with customs operations in the EU use an EORI number. In Germany it is issued free of charge by the Generalzolldirektion; you apply via the Zoll-Portal. A business established in Türkiye obtains its EORI where its first EU customs operation takes place — if that is Germany, this is the address.

Which goods does the A.TR cover and who issues it?
The A.TR applies to goods under the EU–Türkiye Customs Union (in free circulation) and enables duty-free treatment of directly transported goods; agricultural and coal/steel products are excluded. It is issued on request by the customs office; approved exporters may issue it themselves under the simplified procedure.
