General procedural information and referral to licensed lawyers.
This page provides core information based on official sources; the full module (tools + pathfinder) is on the roadmap. The Advisory is always open for deeper questions.
Boundaries first: Brücke does not give legal advice
Legal services in Germany are governed by the RDG: any activity requiring a legal assessment of an individual case (§2 RDG) is reserved for authorised persons. Brücke provides general process information and official sources; where your case needs legal assessment, we refer you to authorised professionals.

How to find a lawyer
Two main routes: the German Bar Association's (DAV) free search at anwaltauskunft.de (by field and location) and the BRAK official nationwide register of all licensed lawyers. The German missions in Türkiye also publish a non-binding list of German-speaking lawyers.

On a tight budget: legal aid options
People on low incomes can receive Beratungshilfe for out-of-court advice and representation: apply at the local court (Amtsgericht); the advice costs a €15 contribution (some firms waive it). For court proceedings, Prozesskostenhilfe (PKH) is available.

What the missions do — and don't
The German missions in Türkiye do not act as counsel in legal disputes; they publish a non-binding list of German-speaking lawyers (without guarantee). Where legal representation is needed, the route always goes through a licensed lawyer.

As a Turkish citizen, do I have rights under the Association Law (ARB 1/80)?
For Turkish citizens the EEC-Türkiye Association Law provides a special framework. Decision ARB 1/80 grants, under certain conditions (e.g. periods of lawful employment under Art. 6/7), strengthened residence and labour-market rights to workers and family members. The standstill clauses — Art. 41(1) Additional Protocol and Art. 13 ARB 1/80 — also bar new restrictions worse than those in force when they took effect. This is a general framework; whether you can actually rely on these rights requires an individual assessment by the competent authority or an authorised professional.
